11 Poems About Peace to Quieten Your Mind

11 Poems About Peace to Quieten Your Mind

Peace is something that we all strive for, or at least we think we do. It’s something we buy books about, listen to podcasts about, and meditate about.

However, when peace finally arrives, it often feels wrong.

We are so used to the hustle and bustle, chaos, challenges, and crazy adrenaline spikes; when peace finally arrives, it can feel like a disappointment.

Personally, peace is something that I’ve struggled with for most of my life, and have only recently found through faith in God.

Whatever your beliefs, I hope this collection of poems about peace inspires you to slow down, take a moment, and go within…

Take a breath and let peace flood your veins.

Short Poems About Peace

1. Finding Peace - Jadine Lydia

you are not broken
if you cannot find peace,
you have simply been living
in chaos for too long.

you are not martyred
if you cannot find peace,
you have simply been
carrying burdens that
were not yours.

you are not tarnished
if you cannot find peace
you have simply been
tainted and deserve to be free.

you are not damaged
if you cannot find peace
you have simply been surviving
and forgetting to breathe.

you are not broken,
you are not martyred,
nor are you tarnished
or damaged,
you’re simply a human
who needs a break from
colossal life damage.

4. The Funny Thing About Peace - Jadine Lydia

the funny thing about peace
is that if you’re not used to it,
it can feel wildly uncomfortable.
the stillness?
shivers.
the silence?
cold.
the lack of excitement?
dead.
are you familiar with these feelings?
the ones that make you want to grind
your teeth?
sit with peace quietly
until you can feel the warmth
of what it is.

11. Sun~Sky - Jadine lYdia

and just when i think
i can take no more
there is a gentle opening,
a gateway, a breath beyond all matter;
where the sun meets the sky
and the sky meets the earth
and for just one moment
time stood still –
above, below and beyond.
