In a world in which we hold ourselves together, bound so tightly by the pressures of life, it can be hard to soften into our most vulnerable selves.
As a type A personality, I’ve spent most of my life feeling like a swan, moving gracefully on the surface whilst paddling for my life beneath the surface – hiding tidal waves of emotions within a carefully managed lake of ripples.
The thing I’ve come to learn is that hiding YOU and your experiences from the world is an absolutely EXHAUSTING way to live.
I’m far from perfect when it comes to expressing my emotions; however, poetry and songwriting have helped me massively on my journey.
I hope this collection of poems about vulnerability also supports you as you learn to share your most vulnerable side.
You are worthy, you are loved, and you no longer need to hide.
the thing about vulnerability
is that you can spend your life
hiding, in the waters
of who you think you should be
or you can open up, be real
and set yourself free.
