1. Treacle Stars - Jadine Lydia
honey, lay your skin on my beating chest and rest in the knowing that it is safe for us; to melt, to have, to hold, to love, to share, to grow into higher lovers, with one another as we walk this earthly plane – it’s meant for us, it’s you i trust and i love you every day.
I don’t know how you are so familiar to me—or why it feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that I have known you before, I have loved you before—in another time, a different place, some other existence.
you were the first person i felt wildly unsure and unwaveringly certain of. that was the scariest part about falling for you: the fact that i had no idea what i was doing, but at the same time, i knew exactly why i had to. – once in a lifetime.
If you came to me with a face I have not seen, with a voice I have never heard, I would still know you. Even if centuries separated us, I would still feel you. Somewhere between the sand and the stardust, through every collapse and creation, there is a pulse that echoes of you and I.
When we leave this world, we give up all our possessions and our memories. Love is the only thing we take with us. It is all we carry from one life to the next.
there will be a time when you look back at this love; the snapshots, the imprints, and at the stars above. you will remember each kiss, and every brush on the cheek where our hearts collided as you kissed my feet. and with a breathless sigh we will hand it above, to the sun and the stars who captured our love; from the beginning, until the end of time a bitter sweet moment, on our love-line.
There is a sacred space that lives between our words. A silent implication of complete acceptance. A divine manifestation of unconditional love. An unspoken understanding. A knowing without asking. A pause, a breath, a moment in time so pure, so clear that it can only be felt between souls that have loved each other many lifetimes before this.
all this space feels so empty without you – filling my heart with lustrous wonder and i wonder why the earth shattered, our hearts crumbled and the beginning became the end – countless bricks, becoming earthless rubble, our ruin of love.
I like the idea of you and me. You know, us, together. Two little lost souls, who finally found themselves, in the paragraphs of a story that only we will ever fully understand.
There’s something unusual about us. Something deeply spiritual. The way we fall into one another so naturally like our love was carved of the earth. There are star systems bursting at our fingertips when we touch. We are in tune. Our hearts croon the same old song. The universe planned for us. I know it. I know it.
Our eyes made love to each other long beforehand… you were something that felt so new yet so familiar to me, like a place I have never been but somehow never left. I think I have known you my whole life and loved you awhile longer.
PoemS about DEEP soulmate love, HEARTBREAK & PERSONAL GROWTH
A few years ago, I experienced a soulmate relationship that lit my soul on fire, whilst simultaneously tearing me apart. We experienced a lot of love, a lot growth and a lot of challenges during out time together; it was wild, it was intoxicating, it was indescribable, it was magic. After we parted ways, it took me a long time to process the ‘what if’s’ and the ‘what could have been?’
And so, I set off on the Cornish Coast path each weekend, walking miles and miles to heal my heart. During this time, emotions heaved through my body and poetry flew through my heart, and Simple Truths was born.
Whether you’re hoping to meet a soulmate, are savouring your soulmate or saying goodbye to a soulmate, this collection will surprise you with every shade of love, longing and loss and support you to feel your way through it all.
